Our contribution to the Global Goals

The UN 2030 Agenda holds 17 goals and 169 targets. We have chosen the seven where our operations make a real difference — not all seventeen. Credibility starts with knowing where you belong.

The starting point

For us, it did not start in 2015

When the UN member states adopted the 2030 Agenda, we had already been refurbishing and reusing meters for over thirty years. Repairing and overhauling for reuse is written into our business idea — it is not a sustainability initiative on top of the business, it is the business.

The work is systematised: our environmental management system is certified to ISO 14001 by RISE, and our code of conduct builds on the UN Global Compact, the ILO conventions and the Rio Declaration. All governing documents are published openly under governing documents.

On these pages we describe how the daily work connects to the goals — and which targets we actually affect. Concretely, without embellishment.

How we work

Three principles carry the whole effort

Measure right

You cannot manage what you do not measure. Reliable, traceable measurement data is the prerequisite for all efficiency — in water, energy and discharges.

Refurbish first

Our recommendation after verification is always the same: refurbish and reuse where possible. You save money and do the environment a service.

Set requirements

Sustainability and environmental requirements on partners and suppliers — including sub-suppliers further down the chain. Responsibility does not stop at our door.
