How would you like the calibration certificate?

We upload the original certificate to the customer portal (kund.matarkontroll.se), where you download it. The first download is the original — after that you can retrieve copies. As long as the original has not been downloaded, we store it for 7 years; an agreement for extended storage can be arranged separately.

How should the measurement uncertainty be handled?

There are three common decision rules for handling the measurement uncertainty and the risk level.

Shared risk is the rule we apply unless otherwise specified. Once the measurement uncertainty has been determined, we base the decision on our measured result and assess whether the meter meets the requirements — 0.49 % means a pass, 0.51 % a fail. The probability of wrongly passing is equal to that of wrongly failing.

Producer's risk places the entire risk on the manufacturer: with 0.2 % measurement uncertainty and a maximum permissible error of 0.5 %, the measured error may be at most 0.3 % to pass.

Consumer's risk places the entire risk on the customer: in the same example, the meter must show more than 0.7 % error not to pass.
5 · Flow points

Flow points and repetitions

How do I choose flow points?
The standard is three flow points and three repetitions — usually good enough (giving about 0.3–0.5 % accuracy in the error). If 0.1 % error is significant for you, an extended variant is worthwhile. More than three points give a good picture of how the error behaves across the flow range — the curves are rarely perfectly linear.

The points should ideally be chosen to correspond to the most common flows that actually pass through the meter. We usually base them on the technical specification (100 %, 50 % and 10 % of the maximum flow). If you have oversized the meter, it is more reasonable to base them on the largest flow you actually run, then 50 % of that and finally 10 % of the maximum. Below 10 % of the maximum, the meter rarely performs well.
6 · Adjustment

Should the meter be adjusted?

Remember to include the transmitter and cable. If the meter has measured anything other than water, it should be cleaned before it is sent — otherwise cleaning may be charged.
