Affordable and Clean Energy

Energy that is measured correctly is used more wisely. We deliver the metering that makes efficiency possible — from the district heating substation to the charging point.

The Global Goals, Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
How we contribute

In daily operations — not in a policy on a shelf

Billing-approved energy metering — Our energy meters for district heating and cooling are MID-approved and measure both heat and cold. When billing is based on actual consumption, efficiency pays off — for every customer, every month.
Sub-metering cuts the carbon footprint — Individual metering and billing makes every apartment’s heat and hot-water consumption visible. The experience is unambiguous: when you pay for what you use, you use less. IMD is also required under the EU Energy Efficiency Directive in certain buildings — we help you all the way.
Charging infrastructure that targets the right hours — Our EV platform load-balances and schedules charging based on electricity prices and environmental conditions. Around 85–90 per cent of all charging happens where cars are parked for long periods — where low power at the right time of day is all you need.
Electricity metering in buildings and industry — MID-approved electricity meters from ABB give property owners and industry the data all energy follow-up starts with. You cannot manage what you do not measure.
Targets

Targets we contribute to

Every Global Goal has concrete targets. These are the ones our work affects — quoted from the UN 2030 Agenda (see globalgoals.org).

7.3Double the improvement in energy efficiency

”By 2030, double the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency.” — target 7.3, UN 2030 Agenda

Our contribution: Metering is the first step of energy efficiency. Billing-grade energy metering and sub-metering make consumption visible and actionable — in district heating networks, buildings and industry.

7.2Increase the share of renewable energy

”By 2030, increase substantially the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix.” — target 7.2, UN 2030 Agenda

Our contribution: Charging scheduled on electricity prices and environmental conditions shifts load to hours when the share of renewable generation is high — an indirect but real contribution, every night.
